Unveiling of LOGO and Kick Start to the Mission
It will address needs for 25 years
A comprehensive development project taking into consideration the needs of the city for the next 25 years is being designed by the city Corporation.
Mayor V. Rajendrababu said the project, christened ‘Mission Kollam,’ will work in close coordination with the Nava Kerala Mission of the State government.
The Mayor said that all the schemes in the project would be designed in due consultation with people. The aim was to implement development projects required by the city for the next quarter century across a span of four years.
The Mayor will be the chairman of Mission Kollam and Dr.Sree Kumar will be the vice-chairman.

22 sectors
The development requirements of the city will be divided into 22 sectors. These will include agriculture, animal husbandry, garbage disposal, total housing, city beautification, youth welfare, drinking water, and social justice, to name a few
People can also make suggestions for ensuring transparent and corruption-free service from the Corporation office. The project will also lay emphasis on improving the traffic system of the city so as to ease congestion and bring down accidents, the Mayor said.
